It is pretty standard practice as a therapist to start sessions by asking questions like, "How are you doing" or "How has it been since last week"
In EFT, sessions are structured around attachment process, not topics.
Clients will either come to sessions with a clear conflict that happened over the week that they want to talk about, and you can use that as a doorway to find the interaction pattern/dance, and go through [[The EFT Tango]] like normal.
Other times, they might come to session with positive things and no conflict. That is equally as important. Positive interactions deserved to be explored. What was different? How did it feel? Etc
Regardless of the content, EFT sessions will:
1. Track the negative cycle
2. Access deeper emotion
3. Create new interaction patterns between partners
