A trick for getting into the emotion when working with clients. 1. Body 2. Meaning 3. Emotion Start by asking what's happening in the body. Do you notice tension anywhere inside of you as we talk about this? If you slow it down, what do you feel physically? Then ask about meaning. What is that tension telling you? What is the heaviness reacting to? Name the emotion tentatively. It is OK to do this for them. Say what you think it is, with a bit of uncertainty in your voice. Let it sit and see what happens.
