## Background Lately, I've been reflecting on ways to grow [[My YouTube channel]] and take things to the next level. It has felt like I've been on this plateau for months, if not years. My biggest challenge: time. I'm too busy to give it the same attention I used to have. My second biggest challenge: a lack of motivation/system. I don't have a system in place to work on the YouTube channel on a daily/weekly basis and I can no longer rely on motivation alone to energize me. The plan: publishing **something is better than nothing.** Rather than pivoting to a new niche or continue posting high quality tech reviews, my plan is to shift to more opinionated, low-b-roll videos. ## My SOP for working on YouTube This is the the most important part about this note. How do I actually plan on making time to produce content and ship it consistently? First, here's the baseline I'm striving for: - One weekly YouTube video (with a CTA to my books or book club) - One weekly newsletter (with a CTA to Patreon / recent YT videos) - Regular Patreon posts for my Lessons From book THAT'S IT! No other social media. No shorts. No live streams. Keep it simple for now. The only repurposing I will attempt to do is turning my weekly newsletter into a YouTube video. Here's the system: - Write the newsletter on Friday or Saturday, ship it Saturday mornings - Batch script videos every week, my filming day is THURSDAY - Schedule one video a week, only schedule a second video if you're four weeks ahead --- Related Notes: - [[Target Audience for my YouTube channel]] - [[ChatGPT Become an Opinion YouTube Channel]] - [[My content buckets and repeatable formats]] This note was originally created on **March 12, 2025**.
