I became more curious about this word after listening to [[ਸੋਈ ਬਿਧਾਤਾ ਖਿਨੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਜਪੀਐ ॥]]. It reminds me of kirtan sohila. Antharjamee purakh bidhathey. So I'm adding it to [[My personal Gurbani dictionary]]. In that context, I've heard it referred to as architect. But after doing some research via [[ChatGPT]], ਬਿਧਾਤਾ actually is better translated to the divine creator that writes all destiny. Other words that seemingly act as a better translation: - Ordainer - Creator - Destiny-writer - Sustainer - Supreme Planner - Divine Governor The reason why architect doesn't work is because architects only plan. Vaheguru does the planning, creating, sustaining, and even destroying. All of it. But I personally still think supreme architect of the universe is an appropriate translation. It makes sense to me.
