## Instructions
1. Rinse rice thoroughly until the water runs clear.
2. Measure out **2 cups water** for every **1 cup rice**.
3. Add rice and water to a pot.
4. Add a pinch of salt.
5. Bring to a boil **with the lid off**.
6. Once boiling, **cover with lid** and reduce to **low heat**.
7. Let it cook for **18–20 minutes**.
8. After the time is up, **turn off heat** and keep the lid on for another **5–10 minutes**.
9. Fluff and serve. Done!

# Rice (Mom's Style)
## Ingredients
- 1 cup rice (yields ~2 bowls)
- 2 cups water
- 3 spoons oil
- ½ cap garlic salt
- Optional: 1 bag of frozen veggies per cup of rice
## Instructions
1. Add **3 spoons of oil** to a pot.
2. Add **½ cap of garlic salt**.
3. Let it heat up slightly.
4. (Optional) Add **1 bag of veggies** per cup of rice and sauté briefly.
5. Add **2 parts water** (e.g., 2 cups for 1 cup rice) and bring to a **boil**.
6. Add **1 cup of rice**, making sure it's fully submerged.
7. Cover the pot and reduce to **low heat**.
8. Let it cook for **18 minutes** **with the lid on**.
9. Taste test a grain:
- If still firm, cook for an additional **2 minutes**.
10. After 20 minutes total, **turn off heat** and let it sit **covered for 10 more minutes**.
11. Fluff and serve.
