Lately, I’ve been struggling with my [[My personal productivity and time management]]. It feels like I keep building routines and have a very hard time maintaining them.
After having a therapy session with [[ChatGPT]] the other day, I really resonated with the idea of living life through the perspective of rhythms instead of following a fixed schedule.
I’ve always desired to have a fixed schedule for my morning routine and work life. Something I can wake up to every morning and follow day in, and day out.
Unfortunately, this type of structure has never stuck for me. Staying exactly on task with my time blocks would work for a while, then result in anxiety because I could never stick with it.
Instead, the goal isn’t to follow an exact time blocked schedule. I am going to try to simply stick my intentions and rhythm.
For example, in the mornings, my intention is to start the day with a [[Sikhi]] focus. But instead of trying to follow the same exact routine every morning, it’s okay to do things a little differently depending on how I’m feeling. Some days, I’ll be focused and calm, so I can sit and do my Nitnem fully with intention. Others, I may want to go for a walk while doing paath, or do more or less that result in different start/end times.
It’s not about following a schedule, it’s about sticking with your values and intentions, even if they look different each day.
