There are two ways we can feel a sense of contribution to others.
1. Contribution through acts: Work, acts of service, doing things for others or a community. This is a more tangible way to feel a sense of contribution.
2. Contribution through being: All of us are contributing by just being alive. Our existence is a contribution to those closest around us. By just being here, we should feel a sense of contribution.
Why does this any of this matter? Because according to the book, [[The key to happiness is feeling a sense of contribution]].
Our contributions don’t need to visible or result in recognition. Simply feeling a sense of contributing is all that matters. If we only feel contribution when being recognized for it, then we aren’t experiencing freedom. We will always be living life in accordance to the wishes of others.
