Even though having a unique ID for every note is the purest way of using the Zettelkasten system, it doesn’t align with [[My Zettelkasten system]] or my [[Zettelkasten Rules]]. In my view, unique IDs devalue notes. They encourage the creation of new notes frequently while ignoring old ones. **It is better to update and improve existing notes.** I intend to create evergreen notes that can last for years. Having a clear title that isn’t tied to a specific date or id encourages frequent revisiting and updating. Additionally, it just looks cleaner when linking between notes and within indexes. It also forces me to create clearer and succinct titles.
